<h1>GeM Sees 136% GMV Surge in Q1 FY 24-25; Services Lead with 330% Growth, New Initiatives Boost Competitiveness.</h1> The Government e Marketplace (GeM) recorded a 136% increase in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) in the first quarter of FY 24-25, reaching Rs. 1,24,761 crore. This growth was driven by the services segment, which saw a 330% increase. Central Government procurement exceeded Rs. 1 lakh crore, with significant contributions from the Ministries of Coal, Defence, and Petroleum Gas. GeM introduced the SAHAYAK program to support sellers and reduced transaction charges to enhance competitiveness. The Aabhar Collection was launched to promote local handcrafted products. GeM also plans to deploy an AI-based chatbot and enhance its platform with geo-tagging and comprehensive monitoring tools.
