Taxpayers can use an on-screen functionality on the Compliance portal of the e-filing website to reconcile these discrepancies. Notifications of mismatches for the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23 are sent via SMS and email. Registered users can access the Compliance portal directly, while unregistered users must first register. The initiative allows taxpayers to respond without submitting documents and is not considered a formal notice. If discrepancies remain, taxpayers may file an Updated ITR.
