These fraudulent summons may appear legitimate due to the inclusion of a Document Identification Number (DIN), which is not actually issued by the DGGI. Taxpayers are advised to verify any communication using the VERIFY CBIC-DIN tool on the CBIC website or the DIN Utility Search on the Directorate of Data Management portal. Suspicious summons should be reported to the appropriate DGGI/CBIC jurisdiction for further investigation and action.
