This marks a significant rise from its 81st rank in 2015. The country's progress is attributed to its robust knowledge capital, dynamic start-up ecosystem, and contributions from public and private research entities. Government departments and initiatives like the Atal Innovation Mission have been pivotal in enhancing the national innovation ecosystem. NITI Aayog, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry and WIPO, is hosting the virtual launch of the Global Innovation Index 2023.
