<h1>Indian Government Approves 2339 km Railway Expansion Projects to Boost Freight, Ease Congestion, and Create Jobs.</h1> The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister, approved seven multi-tracking railway projects across India, totaling 2339 kilometers and costing approximately Rs 32,500 crore, fully funded by the Central Government. These projects aim to increase line capacity, reduce congestion, and enhance transportation efficiency, generating 7.06 crore man-days of employment during construction. Covering 35 districts in nine states, the projects will boost freight traffic by 200 MTPA. The initiatives align with the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, promoting seamless connectivity and supporting climate goals while fostering regional self-reliance and employment opportunities.
