<h1>India's Sensitive Item Imports Up 11.8% in 2007; Edible Oil, Automobiles Lead Growth; Decline in Spices, Milk Products.</h1> The import of sensitive items in India from April to November 2007 increased by 11.8% to Rs.18,702 crore compared to the previous year. These items represented 3.05% of the total imports, which amounted to Rs.612,357 crore. While imports of spices, marble, granite, and milk products declined, there was an increase in imports of edible oil, fruits, vegetables, cotton, silk, food grains, automobiles, and other products. Notably, edible oil imports rose due to a 16% increase in crude palm oil imports. Imports from countries like Indonesia, Canada, and China increased, whereas imports from Argentina, Myanmar, and Russia decreased.
