<h1>India's January 2023 GST Collection Hits Rs 1.55 Lakh Crore, Second-Highest Ever, Boosted by Imports and Compliance.</h1> In January 2023, the gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in India reached Rs 1,55,922 crore, marking the second-highest collection ever, following the Rs 1.68 lakh crore in April 2022. This is the third instance in the fiscal year 2022-23 where GST collection surpassed Rs 1.50 lakh crore. The January 2023 revenue includes Rs 28,963 crore from CGST, Rs 36,730 crore from SGST, Rs 79,599 crore from IGST, and Rs 10,630 crore from cess. The financial year up to January 2023 saw a 24% increase in GST revenues compared to the same period last year, driven by higher imports and improved compliance.
