<h1>Revised Premium Rates for PMJJBY and PMSBY Effective June 1, 2022; First Increase Since 2015 to Ensure Viability.</h1> The premium rates for Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) have been revised for the first time since their inception in 2015, effective from June 1, 2022. The revision aims to address the adverse claims experience and make the schemes economically viable. PMJJBY's premium increased from Rs. 330 to Rs. 436, and PMSBY's from Rs. 12 to Rs. 20. As of March 31, 2022, PMJJBY and PMSBY had 6.4 crore and 22 crore active subscribers, respectively. The government aims to expand coverage significantly over the next five years.
