DGTR Enhances Transparency and Eases Compliance with New Trade Remedy Rules, Self-Certification, and Online Portal.
The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has marked four years by implementing systemic and procedural changes to improve transparency, ease of doing business, and reduce compliance burdens. These changes include simplifying trade remedy rules and procedures, introducing self-certification, and conducting suo-moto investigations to ensure fairness for stakeholders. The DGTR has also defended Indian exporters in international investigations and launched an online portal for trade remedy applications. Efforts have been made to support domestic industries, particularly MSMEs, through sampling procedures and a helpdesk. The DGTR's initiatives have led to increased capacity, employment protection, and significant capital investment in Indian industries.
