This initiative is expected to lead to production worth Rs. 26,880 crore over five years, significantly boosting domestic value addition from 15-20% to 75-80%. The scheme aims to enhance India's manufacturing capabilities and generate approximately 2 lakh direct and indirect jobs. Approved by the Union Cabinet, the PLI Scheme for White Goods has an outlay of Rs. 6,238 crore and seeks to integrate India into global supply chains.
