of <h1>Khadi Karigar Janashree Bima Yojana: Insurance for 2.77 Lakh Artisans with Subsidized Premiums and Comprehensive Coverage.</h1> All Khadi artisans are covered under the Khadi Karigar Janashree Bima Yojana, a scheme initiated on August 15, 2003. The Khadi Village Industries Commission (KVIC) ensures artisans receive benefits at a subsidized premium of Rs. 12.50 annually. The remaining premium is shared by Khadi Institutions, KVIC, and the Social Security Fund. The scheme provides Rs. 30,000 for natural death, Rs. 75,000 for death or total permanent disability due to an accident, and Rs. 37,500 for partial permanent disability. Currently, 2.77 lakh artisans are covered, with a target of 2.90 lakh by the plan's end, incurring costs of Rs. 5.16 crore and Rs. 10.31 crore from Khadi Institutions and the Union Government, respectively.
