India, the fifth-largest millet exporter, saw its exports valued at USD 26.97 million in 2020-21. Major importers include Nepal, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) is enhancing export facilitation through virtual trade fairs and collaborations with the Indian Institute of Millets Research. The Finance Minister announced initiatives to boost millet production and branding. APEDA plans promotional activities in several countries to further expand millet exports.
