<h1>Jal Jeevan Mission delivers tap water to 5.5 crore homes; six states achieve full coverage by 2024 target.</h1> Since the launch of the Jal Jeevan Mission in 2019, over 5.5 crore households in India have received tap water supply, with six states achieving 100% coverage. The mission aims to provide safe drinking water to more than 19 crore rural families by 2024. Additionally, under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen), over 10.86 crore toilets have been constructed in rural areas, increasing improved sanitation facility usage from 48.5% in 2015-16 to 70.2% in 2019-21. The mission employs technology for transparency and aims to make villages Open Defecation Free by 2025.
