India's Agricultural Exports Surge: Non-Basmati Rice, Basmati Rice, and Buffalo Meat Lead the Way, 2011-2021.
India's agricultural and processed food exports have steadily increased over the past decade, rising from USD 17,321 million in 2011-12 to USD 20,674 million in 2020-21, despite logistical challenges. Non-Basmati Rice, Basmati Rice, and Buffalo Meat are the top exports, accounting for 58% of total shipments. Major importers of these products include Benin, Saudi Arabia, and Hong Kong. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has facilitated this growth through infrastructure development, marketing, and quality certification initiatives. India's agricultural export share in the global market increased from 1.71% in 2010 to 2.1% in 2019.
