A draft National Retail Trade Policy has been prepared for streamlining retail trade and development of all formats of retail trade sector in a harmonious manner aiming at improvement in ease of doing business ensuring easy and quick access to affordable credit, facilitating modernization and digitization of retail trade by promoting modern technology and superior infrastructural support, development of physical infrastructure across the distribution chain of retail trade, promotion of skill development and to improve labour productivity, creation of large scale employment opportunities, providing an effective consultative and grievance redressal mechanism for the retail sector, for welfare of traders and their employees.
This information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Shri Som Parkash, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today.
Retail trade policy aims to streamline retail operations and boost modernization, credit access and trader welfare National Retail Policy proposes a harmonized framework to streamline retail trade by improving ease of doing business through access to affordable credit, facilitation of modernization and digitization, promotion of modern technology and infrastructure across the distribution chain, and support for skill development, employment creation and an effective consultative and grievance redressal mechanism for trader and employee welfare.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
