<h1>52 Companies Apply for PLI Scheme to Boost Domestic AC and LED Manufacturing with Rs. 5,866 Crore Investment.</h1> Fifty-two companies have applied for the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for White Goods, focusing on air conditioners and LED lights, with a committed investment of Rs. 5,866 crore. The scheme aims to boost domestic manufacturing of components not currently produced in India, enhancing the local supply chain. Approved by the Union Cabinet, the scheme offers a 4-6% incentive on incremental sales over five years, targeting 90% of AC and 87% of LED components. It is expected to generate Rs. 2,71,000 crore in production and create around 2 lakh jobs, increasing domestic value addition from 20% to 80-85%.
