of <h1>NCLT Faces 19,844 Case Backlog; E-Court Project in Progress, 40 Out of 320 Positions Filled.</h1> As of July 31, 2020, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) had 19,844 pending cases, with 12,438 related to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code. The Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs reported that 320 officer and staff positions have been created at NCLT, with recruitment rules established in January 2020. Currently, 40 positions are filled. An e-court project is underway across all 16 NCLT benches, with e-filing active in nine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, all hearings are conducted via video conferencing.
