of <h1>MEIS Benefits Capped at Rs. 2 Crore per IEC for Exports Between Sept-Dec 2020; Scheme Ends Jan 2021.</h1> A cap has been set on the Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) benefits, limiting rewards to Rs. 2 Crore per Importer Exporter Code (IEC) for exports made between September 1 and December 31, 2020. IEC holders with no exports in the year prior to September 1, 2020, or new IECs obtained after this date, are ineligible for claims. The MEIS Scheme will be withdrawn from January 1, 2021. The cap may be reduced to ensure total claims do not exceed Rs. 5,000 Crore. Most exporters remain unaffected, with no changes to product coverage or rates, and a four-month notice aids future pricing decisions.
