Construction of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial zone in Gwalior – Chambal Region

A formal proposal has been received from the State Government of Madhya Pradesh vide their letter dated 15th July, 2011 for designing Morena area as investment Node in Gwalior Region of Madhya Pradesh under the Delhi – Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Project. The State Government has been requested to make available adequate land, water and power in order to consider providing technical assistance for the development of a new node as is being done in other States.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia in a written reply to a question, in the Rajya Sabha today.

Investment node designation under industrial corridor prompts technical assistance conditional on provision of land, water and power. Designation of Morena as an investment node under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project is the operative proposal, and consideration of central technical assistance is expressly conditional on the State providing adequate land, water and power for node development.
