The session coincided with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Bilateral trade reached USD 1.284 billion in 2016-17, with significant Finnish investment in India. Approximately 100 Finnish companies operate in India, while 30 Indian firms are active in Finland. The next session is scheduled for Helsinki in 2021.
