<h1>India Announces Sale of Electoral Bonds for Political Funding Under 2018 Scheme; Available From October 1-10, 2019.</h1> The Indian government announced the sale of Electoral Bonds under the Electoral Bond Scheme 2018, allowing citizens or entities incorporated in India to purchase these bonds. Only political parties registered under Section 29A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and having secured at least one percent of votes in the last general election, can receive these bonds. The State Bank of India (SBI) is authorized to issue and encash these bonds from October 1 to October 10, 2019, through 29 branches. Bonds must be encashed within 15 days of issuance, with funds credited to the party's account on the same day of deposit.
