<h1>Rail infrastructure expansion: doubling line approved to relieve capacity and improve regional connectivity and freight movement.</h1> Approval has been granted for construction of a doubling of the New Bongaigaon-Agthori via Rangiya railway line (142.97 km) to remove existing congestion where line capacity utilization exceeds 100% and to improve overall operative performance. The project, estimated at Rs. 2042.51 crore and to be executed by the Construction Organization of Northeast Frontier Railway, is projected for completion by 2022-23 and to generate about 34.31 lakh mandays of direct employment during construction.
