MSPs are fixed on the principle of at least 1.5 times the all India weighted average cost of production (about a 50% margin). Implementation: FCI and designated state agencies to support cereals; NAFED, SFAC and central agencies to procure pulses and oilseeds; CCI as nodal agency for cotton with NAFED assistance; government to reimburse any procurement losses. The measure is linked to income centred policy initiatives including PM KISAN and the PM AASHA umbrella scheme (PSS, PDPS, PPSS).
