<h1>India Retires 15 Senior Revenue Officers u/r 56 Clause (j) for Public Interest; Immediate Effect at Age 50.</h1> The Government of India has retired 15 senior officers of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise) under Clause (j) of Rule 56 of the Fundamental Rules, citing public interest. These officers, who include ranks such as Principal Commissioner, Commissioner, and Assistant Commissioner, have been retired with immediate effect upon reaching 50 years of age. They will receive pay and allowances for three months post-retirement. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, under the Ministry of Finance, issued individual orders for each officer. Some of these officers were under suspension at the time of retirement.
