Union Cabinet Approves New Technical Member Role in SAT Mumbai to Expedite Appeals Resolution for Financial Regulators.
The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the establishment of a Technical Member position in the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT), Mumbai. This role, equivalent to a Secretary to the Government of India, is set at a fixed pay of Rs. 2,25,000 or Level 17 of the Pay Matrix. The creation of this post aims to enable an additional bench in SAT, expediting the resolution of appeals concerning the Securities and Exchange Board of India, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India, and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority. This development is expected to benefit investors, pensioners, and the public by ensuring quicker grievance redressal.
