<h1>GST Council Forms Group to Address Revenue Collection Issues and Trends in States.</h1> The GST Council, in its 31st meeting in New Delhi, approved the formation of a seven-member Group of Ministers (GoM) to examine revenue trends and structural issues affecting revenue collection in certain states. This study will explore deviations from revenue targets compared to initial GST system assumptions. The GoM will be supported by experts from the Central and State Governments and the National Institute of Public Finance and Planning (NIPFP). The findings will be shared with the GoM, which will then provide recommendations to the GST Council. The members of the GoM and the expert committee will be announced later.
