<h1>India & ADB Sign $200M Loan to Upgrade 230 km of Bihar Highways for Better Connectivity & Safety Standards.</h1> The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $200 million loan agreement to upgrade approximately 230 kilometers of state highways in Bihar to all-weather standards with enhanced road safety features. The Bihar State Highways III Project aims to improve connectivity by upgrading highways to a minimum two-lane standard, enhancing road surfaces, and boosting road safety. The project will also establish a State-level Road Research Institute to enhance the technical and management capacity of road agency staff. Since 2008, ADB has provided loans totaling $1.43 billion to improve Bihar's road infrastructure.
