They recovered three Red and Blue Macaws, three Eclectus parrots, eight Pygmy Falcons, and seven white ducks, all crammed in plastic bags. The birds were handed over to Kolkata Zoo. The smuggling violates the Wild Life Protection Act and Customs Act, leading to their seizure. DRI continues to combat wildlife crime and encourages public reporting, offering rewards for information. Recent seizures include Indian star tortoises, Hollock Gibbons, and Palm Civets. Further investigation is ongoing.
