of <h1>Central Board of Excise and Customs to be Renamed Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs under GST Implementation.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) will be renamed as the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) following the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST). This announcement was made by the Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs during the presentation of the General Budget for 2018-19. The proposed name change will be incorporated into law through the Finance Bill.
