The Commerce & Industry Minister, Shri Suresh Prabhu chaired a Meeting of the Task Force of the Artificial Intelligence for India’s Economic Transformation at Udyog Bhawan in New Delhi yesterday. The Task Force is created with the members from Industry, academia and Government to suggest policy intervention with respect to use of Artificial Intelligence and giving inputs for the Industrial Policy on 24th August, 2017.
The Task Force has, after detailed discussion with various stakeholders, drafted its preliminary recommendation. These recommendations were discussed and the Minister gave his suggestions for consideration by the Task Force.
The major consulting firm Accenture also presented findings of their recent study on Artificial Intelligence entitled ‘Remix for Growth’.
Artificial Intelligence policy intervention guides recommendations for industrial policy and stakeholder consultation on economic transformation. The Task Force on Artificial Intelligence, comprising industry, academia and government members, is mandated to draft policy intervention recommendations to inform India's industrial policy and promote economic transformation; the Commerce & Industry Minister reviewed preliminary recommendations, provided suggestions for consideration, and received industry study findings as input to the policy process.
