This platform allows citizens to make payments using biometric data, even without smartphones or cards. Two incentive schemes, Cash back and Referral bonus, were introduced to encourage BHIM app usage, with a budget of Rs. 495 crore for six months. Additionally, 75 townships were declared less-cash, promoting digital transactions. The launch coincided with the conclusion of the Lucky Grahak Yojana and DigiDhan Vyapar Yojana, which awarded Rs. 258 crore to 16 lakh winners, highlighting the growing digital payment movement in India.
