This initiative by the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) will support GST implementation and existing services in Customs, Central Excise, and Service Tax. It will also facilitate the Indian Customs Single Window Interface for Facilitating Trade (SWIFT) and other taxpayer-friendly measures. Project Saksham will enable data exchange between CBEC and the Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN), ensuring seamless processing of registration, payment, and returns, while providing a taxpayer interface for audit and investigation functions.
