<h1>Over 1,000 Companies Issued Notices for Violating Section 135 of Companies Act on CSR Spending in 2014-15.</h1> Show cause notices were issued to 1,018 companies for violating Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013, during the 2014-15 fiscal year, the first year of mandatory Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) implementation. An assessment of 7,334 companies for 2014-15 and 5,097 for 2015-16 revealed that Public Sector Units (PSUs) spent Rs. 2,497 crore and Rs. 3,360 crore, while private companies spent Rs. 6,306 crore and Rs. 6,462 crore, respectively. The government organizes workshops to aid effective CSR implementation, as stated by the Minister of State for Corporate Affairs in a Lok Sabha reply.
