        <h1>Ministry Hosts Workshop to Review Support for Statistical Strengthening Program's Progress and Plan Expansion to 19 New Regions.</h1> The Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation is organizing a two-day workshop on March 6-7, 2017, in New Delhi to review the Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) program. The program, with a budget of Rs. 650.43 crore, is being implemented in 16 states. Initially a centrally sponsored scheme, it is now a Central Sector Sub scheme with full central funding. The workshop will assess the completion of activities by states already implementing the scheme and discuss the implementation details for 19 new states and UTs. Funds are distributed through the Public Finance Management System, with training provided to state officials.
