The Reserve Bank of India has set limits on free transactions: three for OFF-US ATMs in metro cities, five in non-metro areas, and five for ON-US ATMs. OFF-US transactions occur when a customer uses another bank's ATM, while ON-US transactions involve using one's own bank's ATM. The total number of ATMs deployed by these banks is 146,267, with the State Bank of India having the largest network of 50,039 ATMs, including 156 overseas.
