of <h1>Deadline Extended for Electronic and Paper Tax Returns: New Dates for Filing u/s 44AB Announced.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has extended the deadline for filing income tax and fringe benefit tax returns initially due by 31st October 2007. Companies and firms required to file electronic returns under tax audit section 44AB now have until 15th November 2007. For those filing paper returns, the new deadline is 2nd November 2007. Additionally, the deadline for obtaining the tax audit report under section 44AB of the Income Tax Act has been extended in line with these changes.
