of <h1>India Approves Tariff Concessions for APTA Members on Locomotives and Aircraft in Fourth Tariff Exchange Round.</h1> The Union Cabinet of India approved tariff concessions for Asia Pacific Trade Agreement (APTA) member states, including items like railway locomotives and aircraft, under the fourth round of tariff exchanges. This decision will be implemented at the next APTA Ministerial Council meeting. APTA, established in 1975, includes Bangladesh, China, India, Lao PDR, Republic of Korea, and Sri Lanka. India is also part of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) but not the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). To protect local industries, Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) include sensitive lists and measures like anti-dumping safeguards.
