Major thrust on various policy initiatives and achievements of the Central Government in economic and financial sector
The Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Shri Arun Jaitley will inaugurate the two day Economic Editors’ Conference-2016 on 10th November, 2016 in the national capital. Press Information Bureau (PIB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance is organising the two day Economic Editors’ Conference-2016 on 10th and 11th November, 2016 in the national capital. The Main objective of holding the National Economic Editors Conference is to apprise the media persons about the major policy initiatives, achievements and future road map of different participating Departments/Ministries of the Government of India.
About 75 Economic Editors from different parts of the country, including from as far as Andaman and Nicobar in South, J&K in North, Imphal, Manipur in East and Jodhpur, Rajasthan in the West, are participating in this two-day conference. It is an opportunity especially for those who have come from across the country to have direct interaction with the policy makers including Ministers and Senior officers of the different participating Ministries. Besides it, Editors and local correspondents covering the different participating Ministries will also participate in the two day Economic Editors’ Conference.
Besides the Ministry of Finance, other ministries/departments participating in EEC-2016 are mainly from Economic and Infrastructure Sector including Ministries of Commerce & Industry, Railways, Road Transport and Highways, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Information Technology and Niti Ayog, among others. Participating Ministries/Departments will be distributing the background material highlighting the policy initiatives and achievements of their respective Ministry/Department in the last two and a half years.
The Directorate of Advertising and Audio-Visual Publicity (DAVP) will also be putting an exhibition on the occasion on ”70 years of India’s Independence’’.
Economic Editors' Conference to brief media on central government policy initiatives and departmental achievements impacting economic governance. A two-day Economic Editors' Conference will brief national media on central government policy initiatives, achievements and future roadmaps; it enables direct interaction between senior economic editors, local correspondents and policy makers. Participating economic and infrastructure ministries will distribute background material summarising their initiatives and accomplishments, and the Directorate of Advertising and Audio-Visual Publicity will present an exhibition to support public communication.Press 'Enter' after typing page number.
