Reference rate publication for US dollar sets cross currency exchange rates and determines SDR rupee conversion basis. The monetary authority published the rupee Reference Rate for the US dollar on October 24, 2016, compared it with the prior day's rate, and, using that US dollar reference rate plus middle cross currency quotes, specified exchange rates for the euro, pound sterling and yen against the rupee; it also stated that the SDR rupee rate will be based on the published reference rate.
