Companies Can Donate to Government-Approved National Funds, But Contributions Aren't Tracked, Says Minister in Lok Sabha.
The Companies (Donations to National Funds) Act, 1951 allows companies to donate to funds like the Gandhi National Memorial Fund or the Sardar Vallabhbhai National Memorial Fund, or any other government-approved fund of national importance for charitable purposes. However, the government does not track the contributions made by companies to these funds. This information was provided by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in a written response to a question in the Lok Sabha.
