The Minister has approved the start of the academic session for NID in Kurukshetra from 2016-17, following the commencement of NID Vijayawada's session the previous year. Additionally, four new NIDs have been approved for Hyderabad, Goa, Varanasi, and Jaipur. These institutes aim to enhance skills and empower human capital in the field of design.
