        <h1>2016-17 Budget: Rs. 19.78 Lakh Crore Total; Rs. 5.50 Lakh Crore for Plan Expenditure, Focus on Key Sectors.</h1> The General Budget for 2016-17 has a total projected expenditure of Rs. 19.78 lakh crore, with Rs. 5.50 lakh crore allocated under Plan expenditure and Rs. 14.28 lakh crore under Non-Plan expenditure. This marks a 15.3% increase in Plan expenditure compared to the previous year. The Union Finance Minister highlighted that the Plan Allocations prioritize sectors such as agriculture, irrigation, health, women and child development, welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, minorities, and infrastructure.
