<h1>India's Horticulture Sector Booms: 33% of Agriculture Output, Surpassing Food Grains Since 2012.</h1> The Economic Survey 2015-16 highlights the significant growth in India's horticulture sector, with its share in agriculture output exceeding 33%. Over the past decade, the area under horticulture has expanded by 2.7% annually, and production has increased by 7% each year. Since 2012-13, horticulture production has surpassed food grain production. The Twelfth Plan saw an increase in the horticulture plan outlay to 4.6%. In 2013-14, horticulture production reached 283.5 million tonnes. Notably, fruit production grew by 9.5% annually in 2013-14, and the area under horticulture crops grew by 18% from 2010-11 to 2014-15.
