The Union Cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its approval for setting up an Empowered Committee of Secretaries under the Chairmanship of Cabinet Secretary, in order to process the recommendations of 7^th Central Pay Commission (CPC) in an overall perspective.

The Empowered Committee of Secretaries will function as a Screening Committee to process the recommendations with regard to all relevant factors of the 7th CPC in an expeditious detailed and holistic fashion.

Empowered Committee of Secretaries to screen pay commission recommendations for holistic, expeditious administrative processing. An Empowered Committee of Secretaries, chaired by the Cabinet Secretary, is constituted to act as a Screening Committee to process the recommendations of the seventh Central Pay Commission in an expeditious, detailed and holistic fashion, considering all relevant factors for further administrative action.
