As per the estimates given in the Report “Contributions of India’s Tech Industry to the U.S. Economy” published by National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) in the year 2015, the Indian tech Industry invested more than USD 2 billion in USA during FY 2011-13; has paid USD 22.5 billion in taxes during FY 2011-15 and supported 411,000 jobs in FY 2015 directly or indirectly.
This information was given by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Commerce & Industry Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
Foreign direct investment flows: Indian tech industry contributes to US economy through investment, tax payments and job support.
