<h1>September 2007 Indirect Tax Revenue Rises: Customs Up 4.9%, Excise 7.2%, Service Tax Soars 23.3.</h1> Indirect tax collection for September 2007 showed a notable increase compared to the previous year. Customs revenue rose by 4.9% for the month and 16.1% year-to-date, reaching 7,975 crore and 48,480 crore, respectively. Excise duties increased by 7.2% for the month and 6.5% year-to-date, totaling 10,186 crore and 54,654 crore. Overall, the combined total for customs and excise was 18,161 crore for September, a 6.2% increase, and 103,134 crore year-to-date, a 10.8% rise. Service tax revenue up to August 2007 grew by 23.3% for the month and 35.4% year-to-date, reaching 3,219 crore and 16,867 crore.
