<h1>Minister Criticizes Tobacco Board Chair's Absence During Farmer Crisis; Orders Sale of Remaining 30M Kg by September 2015.</h1> The Commerce and Industry Minister reviewed the situation following the suicides of tobacco farmers due to debt burdens. The absence of the Tobacco Board Chairman, who was in Italy during the crisis, was noted as insensitive. Consequently, the Chairman was asked to take leave, and a senior officer will temporarily assume the role. The Minister also assessed the tobacco trade in Andhra Pradesh, where 142.6 million kg out of 172 million kg had been sold. The Tobacco Board was instructed to facilitate the sale of the remaining 30 million kg by the end of September 2015.
