<h1>India's April-July 2007 Import Report: Surge in Autos, Alcohol, and Palm Oil, Decline in Crude Oil Imports.</h1> The import of sensitive items in India from April to July 2007 totaled Rs 6356 crores, a 0.9% increase from the previous year. These imports represented 2.1% of the gross imports, which were Rs 297081 crores. While imports of fruits, vegetables, and certain small-scale industry products declined, imports of cotton, silk, automobiles, rubber, and alcoholic beverages increased. Edible oil imports rose slightly, with crude oil imports decreasing by 1.7% and refined oil increasing by 36.7%. Notably, crude palm oil imports grew by 19%. Imports from countries like Indonesia and the USA increased, whereas those from China and Malaysia decreased.
