<h1>India to Renew Long-Term Iron Ore Export Agreements with Japan and South Korea, Sourced from Chhattisgarh Mines.</h1> The export of iron ore is currently under an Open General License, with high-grade iron ore being canalized through MMTC. The government maintains Long Term Agreements (LTAs) to supply high-grade iron ore to Japan and South Korea, primarily sourced from NMDC mines in Bailadila, Chhattisgarh. A proposal to renew these LTAs for three years starting April 1, 2015, is underway, with negotiations on supply quantity and pricing to follow upon approval. This information was provided by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
