India's Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020: Simplifying Export Rewards, Promoting Manufacturing, and Supporting E-commerce Exports.
The Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020 by the Government of India aims to simplify and consolidate export reward schemes. The Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) replaces five previous schemes, offering duty scrips without conditions, while the Service Exports from India Scheme (SEIS) replaces the Served From India Scheme, rewarding service providers based on net foreign exchange earned. Incentives are extended to Special Economic Zones, and duty credit scrips are now freely transferable. The policy promotes domestic manufacturing, enhances ease of doing business through digitization, and supports e-commerce exports. It also addresses trade disputes and recognizes new towns of export excellence.
